Application Essays: Consolidate all essays into one document, distinctly numbering each essay. Each essay should not exceed 500 words. The topics should encompass:

  • Elaborating on your academic and personal objectives, and how these goals align with your studies at Leapman Research Programs. Specific references to the program of interest and other aspects of Leapman’s academic environment are encouraged.
  • Detailing selected non-academic or extracurricular activities and their role in enhancing your academic journey and personal development.
  • For non-native English speakers: Outlining your experience and background in English education.

School Transcripts Submission: The school official transcripts  must be uploaded to the online application, showing a complete academic year of grades. In cases where the transcript does not cover a full year, include additional documents such as a mid-term report, interim report card, or transcripts from middle/junior high school. Pass/Fail grades are acceptable, though further documentation might be requested for a comprehensive review. If emailing transcripts to application@leapman.org, please upload a statement in the application system indicating that the transcripts have been sent via email.

Recommendation Letter: One letter of recommendation is required. It can be submitted through the online application system or sent directly to application@leapman.org. When submitting through the online system, include the recommender’s contact details for follow-up. The recommendation letter should be recent (no older than one year from submission) and specific to the program application. It is preferable to have the letter on the official letterhead of the recommender’s institution or organization.

English Proficiency for Non-Native Speakers: Non-native English speakers must provide proof of English proficiency through tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, PSAT, ACT, or DET. Separate provisions for waiving this requirement are available.

Application Fee: A non-refundable fee of $75 is required with the application, payable online via credit card.
